A Moorland Muse

Show us your muse, says Brie Anne Demkiw. What subject keeps me coming back? Devon of course, it’s the most wonderful place in England and I’m very lucky to live here. I’ve posted many times about the coast, the estuary and the river, and a little about my city. If I think of a muse, what springs to mind is Dartmoor, that expanse of wilderness that I love. Here are a few images from the moor, I hope you find them inspiring too.

  1. I’m not sure a subject is the same as a muse, but I get the drift of the challenge. And your Dartmoor is inspiring. Everything I love: wilderness, openness, views, emptiness. Nice one Gilly 🙂

      1. I didn’t mean literally living there, Gilly. Just that you so often post about it and use it for inspiration 🙂 Happy weekend! A quiet one?

      2. I’m off to St Ives for the day with a friend tomorrow (late birthday trip) so a bit of a drive, but nice lunch and cream tea if I can fit it in! and you?

  2. I too like the idea of landscape as muse: it would have to be mine as well – although a specific landscape might be harder to identify. the last photo really gives a sense of what the moorland is like.

I would love to hear from you . . .
