‘A place reveals itself on its streets, from pedestrians strolling during lunch time, to performers entertaining tourists on sidewalks, to the bustle of local markets, and more. Whether you’re shoveling snow from your own driveway or walking a familiar route to work or getting lost in a foreign city, a snapshot of a street (or road or path) can tell a tale.’ So says Cheri Lucas Rowlands over at the Daily Post.
I’ve chosen street life from four different countries, each with many tales to tell.
The first is my own city, Exeter, in England.
Fiumefredo in Sicily.
Okohia, my ancestral village in Nigeria
The last one is in New Delhi.

Love the one in your ancestral village Gilly…not that I don’t like them all, but that one just pops at you with a story
Very evocative picks Gilly. I love the Delhi shot!
Brilliant interpretation of the theme, Gilly! It’s interesting to note the cultural differences ~ th traders in front of Exeter Cathedral demonstrating typical British reserve; the casual and relaxed Italians, the bustle, energy and colour of your ancestral village, where people are looking directly at your camera (and you!) and the concentration of the youth in India ~ I can smell the aroma of spices from here!! A round the world trip from my armchair LOL 🙂
Nicely diverse set of images!
Exeter looks lovely!
Gilly, lovely photographic slices of street life in very different places.
janet
each one so interesting, so different, the hard work of New Delhi, the colourful fun of your village, men’s business in Sicily … and the old stone grandeur of Exeter, like four points of a compass!
All quite different showcasing Street Life perfectly. Gilly you’ve done a fine job of posting entries for the challenge.
XD
Ah, the one depicting life in Okohia is my favourite because it reminds me of life in Accra. 🙂
thank you for Okohia, your ancestral village in Nigeria!
Lovely comparisons!
All so different, Gilly. Beautiful cathedral 🙂
I love your Nigeria and Exeter scenes, Gilly. I’d love to be sitting outdoors at that cafe right now!
The one of Sicily, really is very Italian. You’ve captured its very character. Great job, Gilly.
Beautiful entry Gilly ….The arts of Life 🙂
