All over the world we are being submerged in an ocean of plastic waste. Disposable plastic is sprinkled around our streets and parks, washes down our gutters into rivers and the ocean, washes up on our beaches, destroys environments and kills wildlife.

For over twenty years we have been walking on our beach, remote from any major centre of population, and picking up anything that was not a part of the natural environment.

An important message from Didirri Dreaming, we must pay attention before its too late. I know I would rather walk on a pristine beach, city streets and unspoilt countryside where wildlife can thrive, wouldn't you?

About Lucid Gypsy

Gilly Mbachu Goldsworthy is a mum to two kids that are supposed to be grown up and mma to a four year old and a new born baby boy. None of that means that I am grown up though! I love writing – travel and quite edgy fiction – and being an OU student for a degree which remains to be seen. What I do best though is counselling; I’ve been privileged to work with many people through big changes.

thanks Gilly for the reblog, hope others might join in and spread the word that plastic pollution is very damaging to our environment :-)

This is a world problem. Human waste is choking the animals of the sea and the lakes. Each of us must be logical. Use less plastic and recycle. Thank you for the information.

  3. Great article. The pollution is so serious in Ghana. Infact, the situation has become a national one.

  4. Fabulous subject. Why does anyone litter? Do they litter in their homes too? Ugh.

  5. Almost everywhere I’ve traveled in the last three years, with the exception of Greece and Japan, have such a problem with littering. Yesterday in Oman, a young guy stopped on the road IN FRONT OF HIS HOUSE and opened his car door slightly, dropping a plastic bottle on the street. Then he promptly pulled into his driveway and headed into his house. I honked and pointed to the plastic he just disposed of, shaking my head. He flipped me off!! He could have so easily just carried it into his house and disposed of it properly. What is wrong with people who take no pride in their world??

And plastic is non degradable; an environmental clog fiend. :-(

I would love to hear from you . . .
