Budleigh Salterton on New Years Day

I don’t know why I ‘ve never shown you Budleigh Salterton before. It’s a small town next along the coast to the east of Exmouth. A very sedate little place, expensive to live in, unspoilt and beautiful. It has the best ice cream shop – The Creamery, there is usually a big queue, and several restaurants and cafes. Notable is the Cozy Teapot, a heavenly little place with old fashioned bone china cups and delicious scones. Here are a few shots from the beach.

Gilly Mbachu Goldsworthy is a mum to two kids that are supposed to be grown up and mma to a four year old and a new born baby boy. None of that means that I am grown up though! I love writing – travel and quite edgy fiction – and being an OU student for a degree which remains to be seen. What I do best though is counselling; I’ve been privileged to work with many people through big changes.

Beautiful place Gilly. The red rock reminds me of Sedona in Arizona.

    BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!

I always enjoy these country hamlet profiles-in-pictures you do, Gilly. These coastal ones are some of my favorites.

Love your summation, too: sedate little place, expensive to live in. :D h Hopefully, not too much to visit, though?

    Hi,
What a lovely place, and I love the rock formations as well.

Very picturesque. I can just imagine people throwing off all their gear after counting 500 steps along the beach from the blue sign. :)

Lovely shots! I want to be there…..funny, St. Paul MN also has an ice cream place called The Creamery. We were down the street from it having dinner for my birthday one year and I wanted to get ice cream there afterwards. You guessed it, the line was too long! so, i still have not gone there. maybe this year ;)

  6. Really terrific pictures, especially like the plastic reflection on the pebbles, actually all the treasures on the beach!

Love the pictures, Gilly. Hmm…. “Clothing optional 500m west…”of the sign? How warm does it get there? I don’t think I can sunbathe on the coast of San Francisco. It’s too chilly. I’d have Togo further south. Way south. Like Newport Beach south.
