Cee’s Foto Fun Challenge: Contrasting Colours

It never pays for me to think very much. The more I think about contrasts the more confused I become, but I think I have a good eye for colour somehow. I’ve chosen three shots, hope they work and happy to hear if they don’t.

A crazy plant that I have forgotten the name of.

I’ve posted this image before, it’s one that I created from a black and white photo of a large sculpture, so cheating really!

So for this one I have only cropped out some excess green on the left.

Come and join in, there should be some stunning colour to be seen at http://ceeslifephotographyblog.wordpress.com/2012/10/02/cees-fun-foto-challenge-contrasting-colors/

These are beautiful!!! I don’t think about color much when I’m taking photos either. I just take what I like and it is amazing when they fit the photographic rules. Thanks for playing along.

  2. Such surprising combinations. I love when you take these challenges, Gilly. Something beautiful always comes out of it!

  3. Wow! Love that butterfly picture. And that plant is certainly interesting, and quite beautiful!

These are so good, Gilly — as usual. I love all three, and what you did with the originally black and white of the sculpture is amazing. I love to experiment like that in the photo programs, and although sometimes I can come out with a mess, other times I come out with something I love and never dreamed was there until I started playing around.

  7. The plant looks like it has little eyes on the ends. I’m going to ssume those evetually turn into flowers. Very colorful and bright ….!!!
The second pix one I could meditate with. I could focus on that one for a long time. It’s magical.
The third was is heavenly. The butterfly on the flowers looks like it’s taking a sweet and gentle nap.
These are all lovely, Gilly. I think they’re perfect.

  10. Love the contrasting colors. It created a more unique, irresitible touch. The butterfly on a flower just enchanting.

  11. I love the vibrant colours of the plant and the butterfly. The sculpture picture is interesting in that you started with a black and white photo. I have no idea how you do that but I like it too.

  12. Great shots, Gilly. You are really a fine photographer. :-)

I love the vibrant colours and the composition of the first picture.

Lovely images, Gilly. I specifically love the butterfly at the end with it’s wings wide open and colors contrasting with the flower.

  15. Amy says:

    Wow! Especially the butterfly!

Can’t see how the middle photo is cheating. It is my favourite of this collection!

I would love to hear from you . . .
