Music in Pictures Contest: Better Days

Visit Elisa and join her new photo challenge, this week the song is Better Days, the soundtrack of Eat, Pray, Love and she has posted song here http://autumninbruges.wordpress.com/category/music-in-pictures-contest/

I took this picture in Ghana on Easter Sunday where they were celebrating the resurrection and better days to come, as they paraded to church.

I thought I would also add that my Nigerian name is Nkeiruka, it means bright future or the best is yet to come!

About Lucid Gypsy

Gilly Mbachu Goldsworthy is a mum to two kids that are supposed to be grown up and mma to a four year old and a new born baby boy. None of that means that I am grown up though! I love writing – travel and quite edgy fiction – and being an OU student for a degree which remains to be seen. What I do best though is counselling; I’ve been privileged to work with many people through big changes.

  9. Wonderful!! I lived for 3 months in Ghana (Accra). My name there is AKUA which means Wednesday. Nothing special, but you get the name of the day you were born. The name is different for boys and for girls… I guess your name is so much nicer ;) Have a nice and sunny weekend Gilly!! And thanks for remembering me of the beautiful country Ghana!!!

  10. Your Nigerian name Nkeiruka is intriguing, Gilly. It’s difficult to know how to pronounce it.
Would the 1st – K – be silent? I wish I could hear you say it. I wish I had a name that had a
meaning. Your photo is perfect and I do believe the best is yet to come with your photo’s.
They just keep getting better and better. It looks like your future is bright.
    Fabulous …

    hi Gilly,
thank you for sharing this Ghana / Nigeria feelings!

  13. Oh Gilly, aren’t I tickled to see this photo? As a kid, we use to march through the streets of where I lived in Accra singing to commemorate Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, the Hossana. During Easter we joined our mothers and grandmothers as we held lanterns to guide us on our way to look for the resurrected Jesus. And this was done amidst singing of hymns and traditional Easter songs. BTW, my name is Afua, a girl born on Friday as you well know. A beautiful photo and a beautiful name to go with it. Thank you for sharing.
