The Sunday Post: Solid

Jakes theme for the Sunday post this week is solid. I’m posting a picture of a granite boulder in the North Teign river, called a Tolmen stone. Legend says that fertility is guaranteed, if the rock is climbed through nine times, at the right time of the Lunar cycle.

So my ‘solid’ rock has a metre wide hole in it!

Gilly Mbachu Goldsworthy is a mum to two kids that are supposed to be grown up and mma to a four year old and a new born baby boy. None of that means that I am grown up though! I love writing – travel and quite edgy fiction – and being an OU student for a degree which remains to be seen. What I do best though is counselling; I’ve been privileged to work with many people through big changes.

  1. Lovely photo…Gilly Gee. :) Rocks are one of the most solid objects there are…and I love the fact that this one has a hole in it…there is vulnerability in even the strongest of things. :)

Great work Gilly I love the hole in the solid rock molded by nature thanks for sharing this :)

  5. I love the idea of this hole in the rock but does that mean it holds water or does it leak out somehow? Might it be dangerous if it does hold water because the person checking it out might not know how deep it is…

What an interesting boulder, Gilly. I suppose it must have been used in ancient ritualistic practices, and they believed it had healing and fertility properties. Great pic for the theme. ;)
