Sunday Post : Design

My question is, at what point does it become my design and not the original artists? Maybe never? What do you think?

The original photo, from a frieze on a wall in a museum in Ankara

Not very exciting but I changed it into this to make a card for a friend, better maybe?

and then for today’s theme, I really began to play :-)

My favourite – today at least!

About Lucid Gypsy

Gilly Mbachu Goldsworthy is a mum to two kids that are supposed to be grown up and mma to a four year old and a new born baby boy. None of that means that I am grown up though! I love writing – travel and quite edgy fiction – and being an OU student for a degree which remains to be seen. What I do best though is counselling; I’ve been privileged to work with many people through big changes.

  5. Ok–I think it’s all yours. First it’s the angle you’re viewing it from. Take the picture, we’re seeing it the way you want us to. Then, you add color, dimension, etc. So much fun!

  6. jakesprinter says:

You are so creative Gilly beautiful designs :)

  7. orples says:

My, my, Gilly, aren’t we just playful? I love what you’ve done with the ‘original’ design that you based your own work on. I think you’ve changed things around enough, not to have to worry about copyright infringement. I really like the spheres in the third presentation from the top, third item down, in the presentation. It looks like you were having a ball, you little thief. LOL. Great job!

Interesting post and interesting question. I wish I knew the answer. I would say that once you introduce the kaleidoscope element it becomes your work.

  18. Gilly Gee says:

Thanks everyone for visiting and your comments :-)

  19. I’m going with “maybe never,” especially if you try to gain fame or finances from it. If you just do it to create a graphic for a card to send to a friend, then all’s well.

  20. Fergiemoto says:

    Fascinating designs!
